FUBU Created a clothing brand sold Nationally & Internationally Partnering with Jean Philippe FUBU wanted to create a line of FUBU Cosmetics adding to their long line of successful products.
Challenge
On creating FUBU Plush, Jean Phillippe needed a creative design that would help sell the brand on Military Army/Navy Bases. This new cooperative venture was aimed to introduce FUBU into the cosmetic arena. JPF had created a luxurious product and wanted the right packaging solution that would present the perfume to both the men and women. The Fragrance would have a look of a rich upscale product. JPF wanted a solution that would not only be about the long lasting with exquisite aroma. The perfume also needed to turn their dreams of having a luxury packaging into reality, using a premium package that will stand out on the shelf. JPF was faced with the challenge of printing a unique box. Packaging that would stand out and at the same time convince the consumer that he/she is purchasing a high end bottle of Cologne/Perfume.
Solution

Knowing that a customer’s first experience with a product is the most important. How it looks on the shelf and how it feels when picked up, Jean Philippe requested recommendations given Netpacks years of experience creating engaging Packaging with high product conversion. Jean Philippe knew their concerns for this product would be met by Netpack, having known them to be designed to cope with exactly these kinds of challenges.

Netpack evaluated the various requirements presented and recommended ways to tackle the challenge within a short period of time. Netpack recommended the use of a premium carton which would maintain a very distinctive look. Differentiating between the individual colors used for the product name PLUSH and the brand name FUBU. Netpack decided that flocking would create the desired rich look FUBU & Jean Philippe was looking for.

The boxes were created on 18pt Board. Keeping tight color control using closed-loop spectrophotometry and optimized production layouts to best support the registration requirements. With a hot-foil stamper/embosser, Netpack then hot stamped over the flocked black material. The flocked material used was also accessible to be printed on. Knowing the importance of adding texture as another layer of the experience of opening these boxes. Netpack went in search of the perfect paper to complement the beautiful new package design. This is because it is important for customers to experience the unboxing of the items as part of the luxury experience they’re buying. Using high quality ink and color technology, the tech team of Netpack created a solution which was a black smooth rich looking package that secured the product entirely in addition to up scaling the rich nature the product portrayed within. Jean Philippe was satisfied with the final product. Ultimately, their goal to create higher levels of efficiency was achieved because they believed it is how one gets more profitable these days while creating a distinctive brand. FUBU was also impressed with the detailed implementation plan that the company brought to the table. They wanted to design something that would stand out from the clutter and yet represent the product within the packaging. The packaging materials used had an alluring texture with a simple but luxurious look. Aspects that complement their brand of living a naturally chic lifestyle.
